Inspections of Pressure Vessels and Aboveground Storage Tanks
All
inspections are performed and testing supervised by a
Professional Engineer certified by the American Petroleum
Institute for Pressure Vessel and Storage Tank Inspection.
Individual certifications are held in the categories of IAM and
IAF Company certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department
of Environmental Protection. Technicians certified to American
Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) Standards perform all
NDT. Depending upon the construction of pressure vessel or
tank, the type of inspection required and the jurisdictional
requirements for the installation, an inspection will consist of
a select combination of the following tests:
-
Visual Inspection (VT)
-
Ultrasonic Thickness Survey (UT)
-
Magnetic Flux Exclusion Survey (MFE)
-
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
-
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
-
Vacuum Box Testing
-
Settlement Survey
-
Tightness Test
-
Acoustic Emission Test (AE)
The results of the inspection are reviewed
and analyzed by a Professional Engineer, who will prepare a
detailed report containing a recommended repair plan devised for
any deficient conditions found. The repair plan will evaluate
and compare the impact of repairs versus estimated remaining
service life and future inspection requirements.
